Our goal at Warhorse is to develop not only a student’s martial arts skills, but character as well. Their success and resilience in life is just as important to us as their success as a black belt.
We accomplish this through our unique “black and blue” stripe system. Black stripes represent self-defense skills (karate, sparring, and jiu jitsu), which are earned through attending classes and testing. Blue stripes represent character skills (like discipline, focus, and respect), which are earned through our exclusive character training forms, and daily character lessons in class. Once a student earns 3 black and 3 blue stripes on their belt, they are promoted to the next belt level. The average student achieves black belt in 6 years, providing confidence, strength, and the ability to defend themselves.
