Our goal at Warhorse is to develop not only a student’s martial arts skills, but character as well. Their success and resilience in life are just as important to us as their success as a black belt.
We accomplish this through our unique “black and blue” stripe system. Black stripes represent self-defense skills (karate, sparring, and jiu jitsu), earned through attending classes and testing. Blue stripes represent character skills (like discipline, focus, and respect), earned through our exclusive character training forms, and daily character lessons in class. Once a student earns three black and three blue stripes on their belt, they promote to the next belt level. The average student achieves a black belt in about 7 years, providing confidence, strength, and the ability to defend themselves.
